Time and again people say that potty training a boy is more effort taking then it is for girls. However, this should be kept in mind that the basics are same everywhere. However, there are certain things that we can do to make this process easier for parents and also fun for child to learn.
Teach With Fun
Turn the act of potty training on the formation of simple games. Give it a new interest twist by buying musical or theme based like musical theme potty chairs. There are some very good products available which are designed to make the process of potty training easier, such as flush and clean the baby and many more. These methods will make your son more involved in potty training.
Reward Your Child
Establish a reward system that allows your child to get awarded when he successfully accomplishes his mission. Chocolate always seems to be a reward worth, but some parents may prefer to give stickers and small toys.
Appreciate the smallest things
When training for potty to your son never use negative compliance rather encourage him by using positive reinforcement. Try to explain the child what is expected out from him and what he should not do. Using positive phrases like "Does my little baby pees on potty" but not something like "You should not pee in your pants". A little achievement from the baby boy should be appreciated and one should avoid all criticism. This may de-motivate a child.
Stop Disposables Diapers
One should stop using disposable diapers. Disposable diapers are meant to made to make your child comfortable when he/she soils one-self. But this is what you do not want. Instead use non disposable diapers like cloth diapers or something like traditional plastic diapers. The point is if your son gets more uncomfortable when he soiled himself, he will learn faster.
Allow Your Child To Learn From Peers
Behold your son to spend time with an older child or another child who has already been potty trained. This may encourage him to act like 'big boy' while using potty. Sometimes learning from peer helps a lot.
Teach With Fun
In summer, let your son pee on a tree, as his father and older brothers do when they are outside. Few things can make a boy feel more like 'big boy' and he will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing he can do instead of using his diaper or pull-ups.
Following these easier steps along with cooperation with child may make the entire process easier.
